The Flowing Power Within

 

I think there is something in all of us that’s waiting to be ignited. It’s a spark that just needs a trigger and when that happens…our true power flows like a river…

 

With twist and turns, it flows over rocks and bends against the grain of sand. It topples over hills and swirls around shallow waters. It journeys to far away lands but holds true to its nature. It changes with time because it has to.

 

For the power within is strong in some ways, but weak in others. It pushes through the sandbanks and plunges over waterfalls. Though the water can be rough, it is the power within that moves you forward.

 

The more you fight the current, the harder it will be. Ripples in the water will soon smooth themselves out only to be hit once more by a world that mistakes you as fragile. And you are not, nor could you ever be.

 

When the morning light comes and floats upon the stillness of the water, it is only in time…that the shadows of the trees and the swaying of the grass will surround you and the heartbeat of the land will pulsate through you and then you’ll truly discover what’s been in you the whole time.

 

THE SEA

 

When the seas roar and the mountains soar, and you’ve been blocked from your journey. One must find a way around…

 

This world is full of highs and lows. If only the sea could stay calm, but it doesn’t…it can never remain calm…when the sea speaks—we listen and hang on for dear life. We guard ourselves with layers of protection. With unsteady legs we walk. Our ships are not equipped, and we are only limited with experience—but we have faith that soon the storm will pass, and the clouds will part, and the light of the world will shine once more.

 

The further you dream…the harder it may seem…

 

No matter what this world tells you, you are…you will stride forth and knock down each barrier because you are a force. God will cup you in his hands and protect your free will to dream because he put those gifts in you to use them. So, when the storm comes just know he’s there watching over you and also know there’s always another way… 

 

A Touch of Lavender

 

Pause for a moment. Sit back and relax. We’ve earned it after all…

 

The push and pull of every day stress can linger when we least expect it. We’re like puppet masters trying to control every aspect of the story. But the problem with this is…sooner or later you just need a break. And you deserve one too.

 

The only way I can step back and look at what I’ve done is to allow myself a moment to breathe. It’s so necessary, probably more so than I realized. In the silence of the day is when I hear my inner voice. I can listen with an open mind and know in the big picture I’m really doing a great job.

 

Far too long, I’ve beat myself up over my failures. But I wouldn’t be who I am without them. And I couldn’t be an honest writer without living a life that’s not always perfect.

 

So, let the lavender of peace distress your soul. And know…with time and patience…there’s a big world out there waiting for you.
